The college has formal membership of multiple professional bodies and has also signed MoU with a few of them for establishing linkages in the interest of faculty and students and holistic growth of institution. A further aim of such linkages is to extend available inventory of institutional competencies to industry and professional circles.

 

The college has institutional membership and/or individual faculty membership with the following professional associations:

Goa Management Association or GMA as is known popularly is an independent not-for-profit organization representing interests of management practitioners, professionals and students in Goa and to promote and develop education and research in management. GMA is affiliated to the All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi and is one of the active and vibrant local management associations (LMAs) of AIMA. The association besides conducting activities focusing on its core objectives, also organizes events including student conferences and special lecture series where students and other members get an excellent opportunity to interact with experts from the field of industry, commerce and economics.

S. Dempo College is the first institutional member of Goa Management Association. Presently, Shri. K. Rajagopal, former chairman of GMA is also the member of the college Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Besides, the college in the past has also partnered with GMA in organizing the popular Shaping Young Minds Programme (SYMP) on behalf of All India Management Association.

Goa Commerce Association (GCA) is a registered society under Society’s Act and is not-for-profit association of teachers from colleges offering commerce subjects. The association represents the interest of commerce teachers across the state of Goa and also provides a platform for industry-institute linkages. GCA organizes annual academic conventions, conferences, workshops and other activities to facilitate skill upgradation for faculty members in the discipline of commerce.

All the commerce teachers of the college are members of Goa Commerce Association. Besides, presently, three staff members of Department of Commerce of this college are on the executive committee of the association including President of GCA Dr. Harip Khanapuri.

Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry or GCCI is Goa’s premier non-profit business, support-services and networking organisation. The Chamber represents and liaisons with SME’s, corporate organisations and Government bodies in the interest of industrial community of Goa. GCCI has taken number of initiatives in the past for the benefit of industry and has played an instrumental role in state’s policy making process for creating suitable environment for Goa’s industry and trade. GCCI also conducts number of activities including conferences  and workshops for the benefit of its members.The college has a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for facilitating extension of above benefits to its faculty members as well as students.
